Resale listing workflow
A resale operation took an item from intake to published listing in 80 minutes. After the process around the assistant was rebuilt, 20.
The problem
The assistant was asked to identify and price each item from a text description, then again once the photos arrived. Every price was a guess from training data. The listing text was typed twice.
Less time per item
80 minutes per item became 20, with the same assistant and no new software.

- 2026
- Built with
- Claude, a skill file, a marketplace form
What I changed
A written instruction file the assistant loads every session, which makes photos a required first step and requires a live search for comparable sales, cited by link, before any price. The listing text is produced once, in the form the marketplace takes.
Working with the model
- Model
- The same assistant the operators were already using
- What I told it
- Photos are required before any assessment. Price only from comparable sales you can link to. Produce the listing in this exact shape.
- What I threw out
- Predictive pricing. An unverified claim about an item's origin, dropped into the chat mid-session, had moved the estimate with nothing behind it.
- What broke
- The old process ran the assessment twice per item and kept nothing from the first pass, because the photos were slower to find than to describe. Making photos the first step removed the second pass.
